Case Study: Phiston Technologies – Full Brand Modernization & Digital Infrastructure Overhaul

Post Image

Client: Phiston Technologies (data destruction & media disintegration equipment, operating in 52 countries)
Scope: Brand identity rollout, UX/CRO redesign, international infrastructure, technical on-page SEO, server hardening & security architecture, web development.

The Challenge

Phiston came to Covio with a legacy site built on default e-commerce theme templates: generic product cards, no clear value proposition on landing pages, a footer with no conversion path, and a backend that wasn’t built to support a global, multi-language audience. For a company operating across 52 countries with a technical, high-consideration product line, there was a clear opportunity to bring the site’s presentation more in line with the brand’s actual scale and market position.

On top of the design and UX gaps, the site was suffering recurring downtime caused by bot traffic and automated attacks. This wasn’t a cosmetic issue. Repeated outages were actively damaging SEO performance (crawl errors, inconsistent uptime signals to search engines) and eroding trust with a global B2B audience that expects a technical equipment manufacturer’s site to be reliably available.

Note: Results and performance metrics from this engagement are confidential per client agreement and are not published externally. What follows is a breakdown of the scope of work delivered.

What We Delivered

Server & Security Overhaul
Diagnosed the root cause of recurring downtime as sustained bot traffic and automated attack patterns hitting the server directly. Provisioned a new VPS environment and rebuilt the server configuration from the ground up with proper hardening. Integrated Cloudflare in front of the infrastructure to filter malicious traffic before it reached the origin server, add DDoS protection, and stabilize uptime. This resolved the availability issues that were undermining both search rankings and client-facing trust, and gave the site a security layer built for scale rather than reactive patching.

Brand & Design System
Rolled out a new brand identity page by page across the entire site, including custom infographics designed in-house to match the new visual language.

Landing Page Redesign (Product Pages)
Replaced default theme product pages with custom-built landing pages per product, including infographic sections, brochure downloads, embedded video, and dedicated “Key Features & How They Benefit” sections with custom infographic treatment. Moved each product page from a generic listing to a full sales asset built to convert technical buyers.

Store & Backend Architecture
Redesigned the main store page with improved layout, expanded product information, and additional sections, plus custom “Quick Quote Request” CTAs throughout. Rebuilt backend logic specifically to support higher conversion paths rather than relying on default theme behavior.

Conversion Infrastructure
Implemented a sitewide sticky call-to-action in the footer with a click-triggered popup form, standardizing lead capture across every page rather than relying on scattered contact links.

International Expansion
Building out multi-language support across the site to properly serve Phiston’s 52-country footprint, alongside improved footer navigation for easier cross-market discovery.

Technical SEO
Audited and resolved Ahrefs-flagged SEO issues sitewide, covering crawl errors, structural issues, and on-page gaps compounding the effects of the earlier downtime.

Team, Locations & Careers Infrastructure
Built a new team and locations page showcasing Phiston’s presence across its operating regions with a redesigned layout, and implemented a location-based careers system with filtering by location and business function (e.g. marketing, engineering, operations), allowing the client to publish and manage job vacancies in a structured, searchable format rather than a single generic careers list.
